AISC recently issued a press release that a Second Supplement for ANSI / AISC 358 has been issued in 2014. ANSI / AISC 358 is the standard that provides information about Prequalified Connections for Special and Intermediate Steel Moment Frames for Seismic Applications, including some proprietary connections.
One of the primary changes from Supplement No. 2 is the inclusion of the proprietary SidePlate moment connections for prequalified connections. For more details, please read the press release from AISC on the ANSI / AISC 358 Supplement.
The complete standard, which incorporates Supplement No. 1 and Supplement No. 2, is available at no charge from AISC at www.aisc.org/aisc358. Since both Supplements are integrated into the document, it is helpful to read the “Preface” (page 9.2-iii, 2nd paragraph) to understand where the changes are located. This part of the preface says:
“For ease of use, this printing integrates Supplement No. 1. (ANSI/AISC 358s1-11) and Supplement No. 2 (ANSI/AISC 358s2-14). Supplement No. 1 consists of the material in Chapter 10. Supplement No. 2 consists of minor updates to Chapters 2 and 10 along with the material in Chapter 11. Minor editorial revisions are incorporated in other chapters. Symbols and glossary terms from the supplements are integrated into the Symbols and Glossary section.”
