Find Up-to-Date Information From Software Companies Through Company News and Blog Pages

What is the easiest way to find out the most up-to-date information about the software programs you use in your office? If you are part of an email list, you probably receive emails when a new release is available, or when there is a tip to share. Are there other ways you can proactively seek out information about your favorite program?

Both RAM/Bentley and RISA have blogs or news pages available that highlight helpful information for users of their programs. RISA takes the News Page approach, which currently (as of July 24th, 2013) has information about SCL Wood Material Databases, using Live Load Special within RISAFloor, and Customizing Labels in the RISA-REVIT Link.

Bentley takes the Blog approach, and allows Bentley colleagues to create blogs to share information with their users. Ann Marie Garko-Hill has a blog called RAM Inside Out, where she has most recently written about Offsets and Rigid Links in RAM Structural System. Beth Suminski has a blog where she has been writing a series called Did You Know?, most recently providing information about RAM Connection Moment Connections.

Do you have other blogs for structural engineers that you find helpful? Please let us know in the comments below!
