This SE University presentation offered design engineers practical oriented design examples for cold-formed steel. The speaker reviewed the recently completed AISI D110-16, Cold-Formed Steel Framing Design Guide, which was updated to reflect the design requirements of AISI S100-2012 and AISI S240-2015. D110-16 was expanded to include a design example for ledger framing, which was presented in detail. Two additional design aids, CFSEI Tech Notes and AISI D100-13, Cold-Formed Steel Design Manual, were also discussed.
