Seismic Design – Appropriate Implementation of the Overstrength Omega o Factor (12:30pm – 2pm Eastern)
This SE University session provided a general overview of the basics of concrete hydration, and the parameters of concrete mix design affecting durability, strength, serviceability, and workability. The ACI 318 and 301 code requirements for concrete mix strength verification and durability were reviewed as they relate to the various concrete mix components. This information was then combined to provide qualitative predictive tools and “Rules of Thumb” for review of concrete mix designs and estimation of concrete material strength and durability.
Session Length: 1.5 Hours
