In January 2025, SEU welcomed Thomas Heausler, PE, SE, from Heausler Structural Engineers, to present Seismic Design – Appropriate Implementation of the Overstrength (Omega o) Factor. Thomas designated the Annual Fund for the School of Science and Engineering at Tulane University (Giving to Tulane – Science and Engineering – Endowed Funds) for our SEU Speaker Inspires donation for the month.
Thomas shared “I chose to give to Tulane because the Tulane Engineering school was founded over 130 years ago, and many generations of alumni have since achieved successful careers and have given back to the school where they started. And another unique reason for me personally to give to Tulane is that my father and my four older siblings all graduated from Tulane – so let’s say I have been a fan of Tulane from an early age. Roll Green Wave!”
