This SE University session focused on structural inspections after an earthquake, including case studies from the 2011 Earthquake in Mineral, VA (Magnitude 5.8). The following items were discussed:
* Processes for evaluating seismic damage
* Common types of damage that can be caused by a moderate seismic event
* Structural damage observed is not always the result of the seismic event
The speakers also presented information about the process of responding to a seismic event, including how to accommodate an increased volume of requests for inspection, and collaboration between multiple engineering offices, insurance adjusters, and others.
