It is critical to check for vibration in your structures, as vibration is not just a problem in industrial projects with heavy equipment, but also in commercial and residential projects. This SE University presentation provided guidelines on avoiding vibration issues by identifying sources of vibration, pointing out code and serviceability limit states, and discussing vibration analysis in depth. The use of software tools was covered as well, including how to use your preferred analysis software as a virtual lab to better understand how vibrations affect your structure.
