The original Department of Defense Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 4-023-03 Design of Buildings to Resist Progressive Collapse was released in January 2005. Since then, the design requirements have been employed extensively and a number of opportunities to improve or correct UFC 4-023-03 have been identified. Based on the feedback from the user community, the DoD recently undertook a significant revision to the progressive collapse design requirements. The revisions, improvements and justifications for the changes were discussed in the presentation.
