Guide to Understanding a Project Geotechnical Report (12:30pm – 2pm Eastern)
Prestressed concrete construction can provide durable and cost efficient parking structures. These structures present design and maintenance challenges as they are exposed to environmental loads much greater than present for enclosed buildings. Because of this, detailing for durability must be incorporated into the gravity and lateral system design.
This presentation reviewed prestressed concrete design methods, provided information about commonly encountered types of damage and deterioration, and addressed methods of evaluating and repairing aging PC and PT structures.
