Updates to AISC 360 and AISC 341 were published in late 2022. However, these documents were not officially adopted in the local building codes until the release of IBC 2024. For the past two years, a handful of jurisdictions have adopted the use of IBC 2024, with more on the way. These newest steel codes use the latest in material grades and specifications, and streamline the interconnection between ASCE 7, IBC, AWS, and AISC. This SEU session will give some highlights of the major changes to AISC 360 and 341, including the newest analysis methods and systems.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand when the building code requires use of AISC 360/341-16 vs AISC 360/341-22.
  • Identify significant changes in AISC 360 and AISC 341.
  • Describe some of the new structural systems and materials/grade that are allowed in the new AISC 360 and AISC 341.

Session Registration Emails will be sent on Friday, March 6th.

Session Handouts will be made available by Tuesday, March 10th.
