Seismic Design – Appropriate Implementation of the Overstrength Omega o Factor (12:30pm – 2pm Eastern)
Steel deck diaphragms are a common structural element on commercial projects of various sizes, and performance is highly dependent upon the successful design and implementation of the fastening system selected. This SE University presentation reviewed and compared the various methods typically used to fasten steel decking, looked at current reference standards and building code requirements, and discussed potential solutions to frequent design challenges.
