It is important that buildings resist the effects of fire for life safety and property protection purposes. This session examined the current practice of structural fire protection, and covered relevant code requirements, testing standards, and proper specification of structural fire protection. Additionally, performance-based methods for protecting structures from fire exposure were introduced.
