For the 2014 Structures Congress, Brian Quinn and Lisa Willard contributed to a paper along with Ryan Solnosky, a Research Associate in the Department of Architectural Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, titled Reducing Errors when using Structural Software.
As part of the paper, the Software Error Reduction Plan (SERP) that was the basis for the inaugural SE University session was presented, including Step 3 – Research and Create Processes and Procedures. In creating processes and procedures, an important consideration is to identify those items that should be reviewed in a software model, particularly at certain steps in the modeling and analysis/design process.
