Seismic Design – Appropriate Implementation of the Overstrength Omega o Factor (12:30pm – 2pm Eastern)
Shop drawing review is a part of every project for structural engineers, and the review process can create questions about liability for the different parties involved in the building design. In this SE University session, Matthew Rechtien, PE, Esq, from Bodman PLC, discussed different sources of liability that may arise during the shop drawing review process, and, through case studies, showed “lessons learned,” including why ambiguity in design injects risk in shop drawing review, why internal policies should be followed, and why not all shop drawings are created equal.
Session Length: 1.5 hours
