Session Details

Ethics in the practice of professional engineering is important for engineers of all experience levels. This SEU session explained why ethics is important, gave an overview of professional codes of ethics, and described the rules of professional conduct in the NCEES Model Law and Rules. Guidelines for making value-laden decisions were provided, and the value of professional and technical societies in maintaining ethical health fitness was discussed. Several case studies were used to illustrate the process, and sources for additional case studies were provided.
