Whether used for anchoring threaded rod or rebar, or anchoring into concrete or masonry,
post-installed anchoring adhesives are used to transfer force from an insert to the base
material. This SEU presentation by Kevin Davenport, PE, of Simpson Strong-Tie,
highlighted some of the newest code provisions related to adhesive anchors installed into
concrete, and presented those requirements from an engineer’s and contractor’s perspectives.
