Built-up members are common framing members such as boundary studs, trimmer joists, stud packs, and headers. This SE University session reviewed the applicable AISI S100 and S240 design provisions for built-up compression members and built-up flexural members. The various design requirements and limit states applicable for creating a cold-formed steel built-up member were also discussed.
