Session Description

This SEU Presentation is the second in a two-part series on Building Envelope Deterioration, Investigations, and Repair, focusing on façade deterioration and repair options for materials including Terra Cotta, Cast Stone, and CMU. Presenter D. Matthew Stuart of Partner Engineering and Science will also provide information on the different types of Curtainwall systems that are available, and will cover structural considerations for design and detailing of these systems.

  • Distinguish between the additional types of deterioration that can be encountered on facades for different types of cladding.
  • Identify different types of CMU lintels.
  • Define the difference between curtainwalls and non-curtainwall façade systems.
