Vibration of Reinforced Concrete Floor Systems – Part II

Speaker:
Mike Mota, PhD, PE; CSRI
Date:
January 13, 2016
Session Details

This SE University session was the second in a two-part series providing a practical design methodology to assist structural engineers in efficiently evaluating the vibrations of different types of reinforced concrete floor systems. During this session, Mike Mota, PhD, PE, of CSRI, presented the elementary principles of analyses commonly used for building floors, in line with the overall goal of guiding structural engineers to practical approaches and simple analytical procedures. Acceptance criteria for human comfort and for sensitive equipment as it relates to walking and rhythmic type vibrations were also discussed.

Session Length: 1.5 Hours
